HOW PARVO, THE DOG KILLER, ALMOST KILLED LADY
One of the most deadly dog killers is called Parvo. Parvo is a viral infection that can kill any dog within 3 days if not cared for early. Have you wondered why within a matter of days, dogs around your vicinity just die? it probably could be caused by the cruel Parvo.
In this write up, we will discuss all you need to know about Parvo and also how my poodle survived it.

let me set the tone with a true story.
I have a 6 month old female poodle (Lady) and a 2 year old male poodle (white); Lady joined white on 27th Febuary 2019. she was very bubbly and happy go lucky dog; she was a 'foodie' and troublesome ( she could poop anywhere in the hall or on the bed but outside).
One day, on May 13th, when i got home from work, Lady did not come to hug me like usual; i later realized that she had not eaten since morning and that got me surprised! but i was quite happy that perhaps she has decided to go on diet.
Day two, observed that she did not come around me when i was eating like she usually did and White ate her food. At night, i smelled something pungent, it was so strong i could not sleep again. i woke to check around for poop and there was Lady vomiting and pooping some brownish substance which smelled like hell. i had to do something to minimize the smell so i applied a disinfectant on the vomit and poop and went back to bed.

Sighing about the investment i had made on my poodles, i cannot watch them die like that; i immediately, took Lady to the vet closest by. After describing the symptoms to the vet doctor, he said she had contracted the killer disease Parvo. The doctor told me that if Lady is able to survive treatment within four day, then she might live.
Doc Adotey mentioned the symptoms of Parvo infection as; severe and bloody diarrhoea, fever, vomiting and severe weight loss, and i concurred.
asked the vet Doc what could have caused that infection and he told that smelling of an infected dog's poop or nose, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppies below 8 months and coming into contact with any infected dog.

later that day, i went to the pharmacy to get syringe, multi vitamins syrup and ORS to administer on Lady at home to give her nutrients and keep her hydrated.
In the evening of day three, lady began to show signs of energy but would vomit too (less than before). we kept on with the treatment till she regained her strength and appetite.
It has been a week of home treatment and she is getting better. She ate and drunk water by herself one morning which showed that she was growing stronger; saved from that dog killer, Parvo.
