Ghanaian owned Charity Real Estate NFT launched

The purpose is to raise funds to build affordable homes using shipping containers for the poor in order to bridge the 7 million housing deficit in West Africa- Ghana and also to recycle shipping containers and contribute to a green environment. Why buy? We intend to raise funds by selling these NFT collections; use the funds to build shipping container mini apartments and then rent them to the poor way cheaper than pertains so that they own the apartment over a period of the rental. The project will also provide jobs for 1000s of builders. Moreso, with the funds generated from this project, we would also build Airbnb apartments across the country so we can reward our NFT buyers and holders with a lifetime free access to any metal city Airbnb in Ghana anytime they visit. Also, NFT buyers would have the homes named after them. We intend to build single and two bedroom apartments with shipping containers for rent. We plan to build 500 container homes every year till we meet our target of 10,000 homes.

One of the foremost NFTs created and owned by a Ghanaian has been launched and listed on the biggest online marketplace for NFTs, the OpenSea. The creator is by the name Victor Wellrich,he is a Digital marketing expert and an NFT and shipping container homes enthusiast.

According to Victor Wellrich, "This NFT collection is for a charitable cause; it is called THE METAL CITY PROJECT, the purpose is to raise funds to build affordable and sustainable homes using shipping containers for the poor in order to bridge the housing deficit in West Africa -Ghana and also to recycle shipping containers that would have found itself dumped somewhere and left to rot and eventually burned as scrap that pollutes the environment"

This project also seeks to satisfy the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) numbers: 7, 8, 9, 11, and 13.

In Ghana, there are over 7 million housing deficit; over 90% of the population live in rented homes. These rented homes are very expensive and the renters charge no less than one year advance rent fees; for the average Ghanian worker, it would take him at least 15 months to be able to raise money for a one year rent. People end up borrowing or spending all their savings on rent and then live the rest of the months paying loans; when such a person loses his or her job,they find themselves on the streets, doing all manner of vicious things to make ends meet.

This is not the life we want humans to live. One of the sure ways to alleviate poverty, hunger, crime and encourage recycling in Africa and Ghana is to provide the people with affordable accommodation that they can own eventually; so they rent to own.
